Cecil John Ardoin

FOTH WORTH, Texas, - A memorial service was held for Cecil John Ardoin, 71, at the Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Kennedale, Texas, at 11 a.m., Monday, July 6. A service followed at 1:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Mr. Ardoin died Monday, June 29, 2015, in Emerald Hills. “Cajun,” as he was known in Texas, graduated from Abbeville High School in May 1962 and joined the U.S. Navy. He served 23 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He was very active in the American Legion Post #624 in Mansfield, Texas, the American Legion Riders and the VFW. The American Legion Riders led the procession to the Veterans Cemetery, where he was given full military funeral honors.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Janelle Ardoin; two daughters, Nicole Adams and her husband, Mark, and Michelle Ardoin; one granddaughter, Erica Knutzen; two grandsons, Kyle Dunshee and Ryan Ardoin; two stepdaughters, Melissa Lovette and Stacy Kepple and her husband, Zach; one step-granddaughter, Kristen Lovette; two step-grandsons, Dakota Henson and Joshua Henson; one sister, Mona Ardoin LeBlanc and her husband, Russell; one brother, Joey Tate and his wife, Punkie; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Amy Soileau Ardoin.
Emerald Hills Funeral Home of Kennedale, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.
