Cecile Guillory Pitre

LAFAYETTE - A memorial service was held for Cecile Guillory Pitre, 71, of Lafayette, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lafayette at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 13.
Ms. Pitre died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at her residence. Born in Ville Platte, she was a resident of Lafayette for over 40 years. She was a graduate of Chataignier High School. She was co-owner of the Travelodge of Lafayette. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed antique shopping, working in her yard and being the best “Grandma” ever and she will be dearly missed.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer P. Woodruff and her husband, Lento; four sons, Mark Pitre and his wife, Anne, Brett Pitre, Dwayne Pitre and his wife, Jeanette, and Dwight Pitre; nine grandchildren, Josh Pitre, Zach Pitre, Anne-Elyse Pitre, Jamila Pitre, Courtney Pitre; Christina Pitre, Katherine Pitre, Mia Woodruff and Lily Woodruff; three sisters, Florence Rider, Grace LeBleu and Barbara Guillory; and four brothers, Leonard Guillory, Gene Guillory, Evans Guillory Jr. and Kim Guillory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Pitre; her parents, Evans Guillory Sr. and Vernice Fuselier Guillory; and one brother, John Guillory.
Lectors were Courtney Pitre and Josh Pitre.
Gift bearers were Anne-Elyse Pitre, Jamila Pitre, Mia Woodruff and Lily Woodruff.
Ushers were Christina Pitre and Katherine Pitre.
Jodi Bollich, organist, sang for the services, “On Eagles’ Wings,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” “Ave Maria” and “Amazing Grace.”
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Elaine Guillory for her loving care and support in their family’s time of need.
