Funeral services will be held for Christopher Robert Reed, 40, of Scott, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Monday, May 2. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of Ville Platte, Mr. Reed died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at his residence. He was a genuine, loving and caring person who enjoyed music and loved his children dearly. “Pappa,” as he was known, was also adventurous and free-spirited and always made everyone feel as if they were his best friend.
Survivors include his wife, Tara Reed of Scott; four children, Aidan Dominic Reed, Oliver Samual Reed, Amelia Catherine Reed and Gabriel Anthony Reed, all of Scott; his mother, Shirley Reed of Ville Platte; two brothers, Gregory Reed of Magnolia, Arkansas, and Michael J. Reed of Ville Platte; and two sisters, Claire Kimble of Portland, Oregon, and Catherine Clark of Ville Platte.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Anthony Reed; two brothers, David and Timothy Reed; and two sisters, Carol and Mary Beth Berzas.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 1, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., and will resume Monday morning, May 2, at 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed in his honor this evening at 7 p.m.
Father Tom Voorhies will officiate.
