PINE PRAIRIE - Funeral services were held for Christopher Shane West, 51, of Pine Prairie, at Friendship Baptist Church in Pine Prairie at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 29. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. West died Saturday, December 26, 2015, at his residence. He was well known for his love of music, teaching, coaching and umpiring.
Survivors include his wife, Nanci Johnson West of Pine Prairie; one son, Christopher Dayne West of Pine Prairie; two, daughters, Branigan Leigh West and Madaline West Fontenot and her husband, Tyler, all of Pine Prairie; one grandson, Parker Shane West; his father and step-mother, Bill and Irmus West of Pine Prairie; two brothers, Joseph West and his wife, Julie, and Quint West and his wife, Roxane, all of Pine Prairie; three sisters, Marlene Fontenot of Opelousas, Paula Guillory and her husband, Neal, of Pine Prairie and Carla Carter and her husband, Mike, of Lake Charles; his father-in-law, Clyde Johnson of St. Landry; and his mother-in-law, Muriel Self of Bayou Chicot.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Faye Roberts West.
