CLINTON J. “WEST” GUILLORY

VILLE PLATTE - A Memorial Service will be held for Clinton Joseph Guillory, also known as “Clint West,”on Friday, July 1, 2016 in the Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte at 5:15 p.m. Visitation will also be held that same day from 9 a.m. until time of services with a rosary being recited at 5 p.m.
West, 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas.
West was born in Ville Platte on August 11, 1938. West was a swamp pop legend, singing and playing drums for six decades. He was a multiple inductee into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, both as a solo artist and as a member of the Boogie Kings. He loved being with his family, the fellowship of good friends, music, being outdoors, cooking and the Louisiana lifestyle. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, family and fans. The King of Boogie is bringing some soul to Heaven’s orchestra.
West leaves behind his sons, Daniel Coby Guillory and wife Carla of Oberlin, Mark Chauncey Guillory and wife Payton of Prairie Ronde, Clinton Joseph Guillory II of Lafayette, Joshua Slavon Guillory and wife Jamie of Youngsville, daughter, Felicia Guillory of Pine Prairie, 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Wilbon and Odette Guillory, brothers, Leo and Ervin Guillory and sisters, Lillie Mae Veillon and Loyce Bogard.
