Curtis W. Ortego

Funeral services were held for Curtis W. Ortego, 86, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 4. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Ortego died Friday, January 2, 2015, at hie residence. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Mae Fontenot Ortego of Ville Platte; one son, David Dwight Ortego and his wife, Claudia Franks, of Ville Platte; and one daughter, Lisa Ortego of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his two grandchildren, Robyn Ortego Duos and Philip Ortego; and two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Emily Duos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Marie Ortego; and one brother, Nellard Ortego.
Father Mitchell Guidry officiated.
