Dorothy Nell “Dot” Tate Fontenot

MAMOU - Funeral services will be held for Dorothy Nell “Dot” Tate Fontenot, 76, of Ville Platte, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 30. Burial will follow in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.
A wonderful, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Ms. Fontenot died Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She was a retired English and Home Economics teacher after teaching for 36 years at Vidrine High School and Mamou High School. Her favorite hobby was cooking for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the grandchildren in sports and rodeos, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include four sons, David Isaac Fontenot and his wife, Deborah, Dr. Tommy Fontenot and his wife, Lori, Barry Paul Fontenot and his wife, Stephanie, and Donovan Kurt Fontenot and his wife, Diane, all of Ville Platte; one daughter, Anne Reed and her husband, Mike, of Pine Prairie; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Fedora Vidrine Tate; and one grandchild, Joshua Paul Fontenot.
Father Alphonse Thainese will officiate.
