Funeral services will be held for Elbay J. Fontenot, 91, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 1. Burial will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery in Mamou.
Mr. Fontenot died Friday, February 28, 2014, at Mercy Regional Center in Ville Platte.
Survivors include his wife, Vergene Berzas Fontenot of Ville Platte; two daughters, Hilda Richard of Oberlin and Trixie Campbell of Point Blue; one step-son, Darrel W. Guillory of Vidrine; one step-daughter, Calvalene Hebert of Pine Prairie; two sisters, Audrey Fontenot and Evertra Soileau, both of Ville Platte; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulyss and Ophelia Deshotel Fontenot; one daughter, Betty Thibodeaux; one brother, Larry Fontenot; and two sisters, Eunice Fontenot and Elsie Dean Fontenot.
Father Brian Harrington will officiate.
