Funeral services were held for Eleanor Lafleur Johnson, 96, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 12 noon, Wednesday, April 6. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Johnson died Monday, April 4, 2016. She enjoyed many hobbies, including baking, cooking, gardening, camping, sewing, volunteering for Evangeline Community Action, and being a good friend to those in need.
Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Johnson and his wife, Elaine, and Michael Johnson and his wife, Annette, all of Ville Platte; one sister, Enna Mae Bertrand of Eunice; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Relice and Ida Manuel Lafleur; her husband, Wilson Johnson; one daughter, Janice Johnson Guillory; three brothers, Willis Lafleur, Dewey Lafleur and Eli Lafleur; and two sisters, Loraine Lafleur and Anna Lafleur Monier.
Father Matthew Barzare officiated.
