Funeral services will be held for Ellis Joseph “Shorty” Deville, 77, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 26. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Mr. Deville died Sunday, February 22, 2015.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Winnie Daire Deville of Ville Platte; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Johnson and her husband, Nick, of Basile; one brother, Curtis Deville of Plaisance; and three sisters, Elsie Lavergne of Opelousas and Joy O’Conner and Lou Soileau, both of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his five grandchildren, Logan, Maegan, Raegan, Conner and Trae’.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Palamon and Annie Deville; and seven brothers and sisters.
Father Jason Vidrine will officiate.
