Funeral services will be held for Elma Edwards Wilson, 83, of Ville Platte, at Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Wilson died Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte.
Survivors include her husband, Magfrey Wilson of Ville Platte; one son, Gene Wilson of Ville Platte; seven daughters, Betty Wilson, Lou Hilda Thomas, Goldie Wilson and Sonna Wilson, all of Ville Platte, Emma Richardson and Norma Wilson, both of Beaumont, Texas, and Elma Jackson of Lake Charles; four sisters, Annie Bell Richard of Mamou, Leatrice Wilson of Ville Platte, Ethel Frank of Beaumont, Texas, and Mary Lavine of Lake Charles; three brothers, Jeffery Edwards of Lake Charles, Lemon Edwards of Houston, Texas, and Arris Edwards of Ville Platte; 33 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Rev. Herman Arvie will officiate.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Ville Platte will be in charge of arrangements.
