Emma Dean Fontenot

MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Emma Dean Fontenot, 68, of Mamou, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie, at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 2. Burial followed in the Ortego Cemetery in L’anse Gries.
Ms. Fontenot died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Buzz Fontenot of Mamou; two daughters, Lisa F. Broussard and her husband, Mitch, of Vidrine and Renee Persicke and her husband, Byron, of Spokane Valley, Washington; four brothers, Byron Soileau and Carroll Soileau, both of Reddell, Jerry Soileau of Mamou and Kenneth Soileau of Baton Rouge; one sister, Ella Kilgore of Mamou; four grandchildren, Dustin Fontenot, Jordan Fontenot, Alexis Persicke and Ethan Persicke; and one great-grandchild, Jaxon Fontenot.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Paul Fontenot; and her parents, Melvin and Exzina Soileau.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice nurses for the care and compassion they provided for our loved one, Rose, Regina, Nicole, Joan, Lisa and Rita; and a very special thanks to Father Richard Broussard.
