Etta Jane Thibodeaux Fontenot

Funeral services will be held for Etta Jane Thibodeaux Fontenot, 67, of Belaire Cove, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 16. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
A devoted wife, step-mother, step-grandmother, sister and aunt, Mrs. Fontenot died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. She devoted her life to the care and happiness of her family. She was a kind and loving woman, and spending time with her family and dear friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be mourned by many.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 37 years, Roland Fontenot of the Belaire Cove community; and two step-daughters, Rachelle Butler of Turkey Creek and Tunita Carraway and her husband, Cody, of upper Pine Prairie. Precious memories will be forever cherished by her six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren, whom she felt blessed to have shared in their lives. She will certainly be missed by her only sister, Dorothy Ann Thibodeaux Fontenot and her husband, P.L., of Ville Platte; and her five remaining brothers, Gene Thibodeaux and his wife, Hazel, of Catahoula, Charles Thibodeaux and his companion, Vena, of Texas, John A. Thibodeaux and his wife, Nettie, of Lafayette, Ronald Thibodeaux of Texas and Darrel Thibodeaux and his wife, Debbie, of Eunice. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she absolutely adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzia and Isabella Miller Thibodeaux; and one brother, Elvy Thibodeaux.
Father Jason Vidrine will officiate.
