MAMOU - Funeral services will be held for Evelyn Marie Honore, 55, of Mamou, at Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Mamou at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Honore died Friday, January 29, 2016, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Darren Honore Sr. of Mamou; four children, Tonterea Honore (Brandon) of Zachary, Darren Honore Jr. and Leona Evans (Brody), both of Mamou, and Trenise Chapman (Adam) of Reddell; two step-children, Dondi Franklin of New Orleans and Darel Pace of Detroit, Michigan; four brothers, Adam Durgan Sr. (Colleen) of Beaumont, Texas, Albert Durgan (Cassandra) and Clabert James Durgan, both of Mamou, and Nathaniel Matthew of Shreveport; one sister, Mary Durgan Etienne of St. Martinville; 15 grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Durgan Sr. and Evelyn Matthew Durgan; her adopted parents, Joshua and Georgia Matthew; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Thelma Honore.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6, at Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Mamou.
