MAMOU - Funeral services will be held for Ferly Mae Matthew, 70, of Mamou, at Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Mamou at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 21. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Matthew died Monday, March 16, 2015, at her residence.
Survivors include seven sons, Carl Anthony Matthew (Barbara) of Houston, Texas, Silton Matthew, Freddie Matthew (Lorinda) and Kirby Matthew Jr., all of Mamou, Kerry Matthew (Charity) of St. Angelo, Texas, Carl Lawyer of Port Arthur, Texas, and Nathaniel Matthew of Shreveport; two daughters, Fredia Bellard and Florida Matthew, both of Mamou; one brother, Stephen LaRose of Port Arthur, Texas; three sisters, Ella Bertrand of Beaumont, Texas, Mary Thomas of Mamou and Maxie Arvie of Lake Charles; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Matthew Sr.; two brothers, Murphy and Linton LeBlanc; one sister, Mary Martha Ardoin; one grandson, Thaddeus Bellard; and one great-granddaughter, Jasmine Jack.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, March 21, at Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Mamou.
Rev. Allen Ben will officiate.
