Funeral services were held for Fredrick “Fred” Phillips, 87, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 12 noon, Tuesday, December 1. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
Mr. Phillips died Saturday, November 28, 2015. He was one of the founders of both Citizens Bank and Ville Platte Concrete.
Survivors include two sons, Audie Ray Phillips and his wife, Therese, and Steven David Phillips and his wife, Gwen, all of Ville Platte; one brother, Burke Phillips and his wife, Emma Joy, of Ville Platte; two sisters, Anna Lee Menard and Beryl Deshotel, both of Lake Charles; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Amy Lafleur Phillips; and one brother, John Calvin Phillips.
