GERVIS LAFLEUR
July 15, 1934- July 25, 2016
VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Gervis L. LaFleur, 82, will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016, at 1 p.m. with the visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the Antioch B. C. in Ville Platte. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Ville Platte. Rev. Eradly Ben Sr. will conduct the funeral ceremony.
Lafleur passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at 1:40 p.m. at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte.
Lafleur was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edwin and Martha LaFleur, and all his siblings. Three sisters, Geraldine Smith, Hazel LaFleur, Jennie Lee LaFleur; and five brothers, Clement LaFleur, Sr., Lionel LaFleur, Joe LaFleur, Rev. Morell LaFleur, and Freddie LaFleur.
While living without them, he possessed a strong faith in God and accepted the strength from God to continue the work of the Lord.
Survivors are his wife, Lena M. LaFleur, two sons Greg LaFleur of Baton Rouge and Rod LaFleur of Ville Platte, and two daughters Shountilez Williams (Walter) and Shountinez Brown (Ernest) both of Ville Platte. His five grandchildren will cherish the fun memories with their hearts filled with love for him; Robert LaFleur-Sacre (Vanessa) of Spokane Washington, Jennifer Brown, Devin Williams, and Kyle Williams of Ville Platte and Greyson LaFleur of Austin, Texas. Two great grandchildren, Quinton and Anastacia of Spokane, Washington. He also dearly leaves to mourn with their precious memories of time spent with him are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A pioneer and a man of God that will be truly missed.
