A memorial service will be held for Hester Thomas, 85, of Ville Platte, at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 15.
Ms. Thomas died Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Calvin (Howard) of Ville Platte; one step-daughter, Christine Freeman (Leroy) of Ville Platte; one brother, Freddie Thomas (Essie) of Lake Charles; one granddaughter, Trina Calvin of Ville Platte; three great-grandchildren, Jared Calvin, Keiara Calvin (Tevin Thomas) and Kealogah Calvin, all of Ville Platte; one great-great-grandchild, Taylen Thomas of Ville Platte; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, JP Thomas and Octavia Pitre Thomas; four brothers, Alton Thomas Sr., Marshall Thomas, JP Thomas and Warren Thomas; and three sisters, Mary Jane Thomas, Martha Mitchell and Octavia Lewis.
