Irving Murphy Solar

NEW IBERIA - Funeral services will be held for Irving Murphy Solar, 62, of New Iberia, at the Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 20.
Mr. Solar died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Masonic Lodge 430 of Bayou Chicot. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening, and he cherished moments spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Henry Solar of New Iberia; one daughter, Jocelyn Solar Delaune and her husband, William, of Denham Springs; one son, Murphy Adam Solar and his wife, Stephanie, of Hammond; three grandchildren, Garrett Lassitter, William Delaune Jr. and Monique Delaune, all of Denham Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Murphy Alfred Solar; one sister, Shirley Solar Mathis; and one brother-in-law, Mathew Mathis.
Masonic Lodge 430 of Bayou Chicot will officiate.
