OAKDALE - Funeral services for James Daniel Crawford were held Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Friendship Baptist Church in Pine Prairie with Reverend Jacob Vollm and Reverend Ervin Goodman officiating. Committal service followed in the Friendship Cemetery.
Crawford, 70, of Oakdale, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 in his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born December 24, 1945 in Pine Prairie to the union of Herbert Henry Crawford and Bonnie Mae Campbell Crawford. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a heavy equipment operator.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, H.L. and Jerry Crawford; three sisters, Bessie Mae Elliott, Evelyn Grayson and Ida B. Brewer.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his loving wife of 51 years, Hope Crawford of Oakdale; two sons, Danny (Loretta) Crawford of Turkey Creek and James Kevin Crawford of Pine Prairie; two daughters, Melissa (Steve) Simmons and Melanie (Justin) Courville, all of Pine Prairie; one brother, Donald (Pat) Crawford of Bayou Chicot; two sisters, Shirley Johnston of Oakdale and Betty (Harold) Manuel of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers were Justin Crawford, Kody Crawford, Hunter Simmons, Troy Fontenot, Coty West and Tryston Crawford. Honorary pallbearer was Tylan Jagneaux.
White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale was in charge of arrangements.
