Jimmie "Foo Foo" Fontenot Sr.

Funeral services were held for Jimmie “Foo Foo” Fontenot Sr., 80, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 12 noon, Thursday, July 2. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Mr. Fontenot died Tuesday, June 30, at his residence. He was the former owner of Frank Fontenot Sausage Kitchen and Meat Market. After moving to Ville Platte from L’anse aux Pailles in 1946, he took over his father’s business at a very early age.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Norma “Jeanie” Davenport Fontenot of Ville Platte; one son, Jimmy Fontenot Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Ville Platte; two daughters, Deborah Fontenot of Lafayette and Melanie LaFleur and her husband, Tony, of Ville Platte; one sister, Ruth Ella Fontenot of Ville Platte; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Edia Sonnier Fontenot.
Father Mitchell Guidry officiated.
Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.
