Joan Bahm Reed

INDEPENDENCE - Funeral services will be held for Joan Bahm Reed, 94, of Independence, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Amite at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29. Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery in Independence.
Ms. Reed died May 27, 2014, at her residence. She received her Master of Education degree from LSU. She was a active member of Tangipahoa Volunteers for Family and Community (TVFC) with 58 years of service.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan R. Dreher of Independence and Elizabeth R. Erkenswick of Chicago, Illinois; five sons, Thomas E. Reed of Amite and Richard W. Reed, William S. Reed, Daniel C. Reed and David M. Reed, all of Independence; one brother, Glenn A. Bahm of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lionel Reed; and one sister, Elizabeth B. Sawyer.
