Funeral services will be held for Joseph Vernal Johnson, 85, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., today, October 17. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Mr. Johnson died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. He was a dairy and cattle farmer and was a past board member of Dairymen, Inc.
Survivors include one son, Ricky A. Johnson and his wife, Judy, of Ville Platte; two daughters, Pat Enicke and her husband, Myles, and Beth Veillon and her husband, Donnie, all of Ville Platte; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Sr. and Cora Deshotel Johnson; his wife, Frenella Fontenot Johnson; two sons, Glenn and Ted Johnson; and one brother, Clifton Johnson Jr.
Father Brian Harrington will officiate.
