Landris John Roberie
Funeral services were held for Landris John “Bud” Roberie, 85, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 7. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Roberie died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie. He served his country with great honor and pride as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. As a devoted family man, he worked tirelessly to support his beloved family, working for many years as a maintenance specialist for CLECO.
Survivors include one son, Sidney Roberie and his wife, Rachel, of Ville Platte; and his two precious grandchildren, Toby Lane Roberie and his wife, Rosanna, of Houma and Jacob Scott Roberie of Baton Rouge. He will be sadly missed by his three sisters, Runie Thibodeaux and Lou Ellen Pitre and her husband, Howard, all of Ville Platte, and Geneva Brignac and her husband, Louis, of Schriever.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gladys “Peatie” Howerton Roberie; one brother, Ray Roberie; and his parents, Mayo and Hester Fontenot Roberie.
Father Richard Vidrine officiated.
