TURKEY CREEK - Funeral services were held for Lester Gene Ferguson, 49, originally of Lake Cove, at the Lake Cove Baptist Church at 10 a.m., Monday, March 24. Burial followed in the McCormick Cemetery in Turkey Creek.
Mr. Ferguson died Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Opelousas.
Survivors include his aunts and uncles, Berl and Maggie Clark, Huey and Melvie Johnson and Barbara King, all of Lake Cove, and Leo and Kay Clark of Glenmora; two special friends, Annie Messer and Dorothy Ardoin, both of Lake Cove; and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mildred Ferguson; two brothers, Larry Ferguson and Earl Ferguson; and his grandmother, Ruth King.
Revs. David Messer, Cody King and Harlon Hazelton officiated.
