Lester Mary Campbell

PINE PRAIRIE - Funeral services were held for Lester Mary Campbell, 89, of Turkey Creek, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou at 10 a.m., Friday, June 13, Burial followed in the Campbell Cemetery in Pine Prairie.
A native of Mamou and resident of Turkey Creek, Ms. Campbell died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was the former owner and operator of Turkey Creek Grocery.
Survivors include four children, Keith Campbell of Turkey Creek, Gale Campbell Cradeur and Veretta Campbell Knight, both of Lake Charles, and Cassie Campbell Menier of Pine Prairie; one brother, Joseph L. Deshotel of Ville Platte; and two sisters, Virginia Fontenot of Lake Charles and Mary Sonnier of Elizabeth. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. They were the absolute light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Campbell; one son, David L. Campbell; one granddaughter, Donna Kay Cradeur; two brothers, Jeffery Deshotel and John Terry Deshotel; and two sisters, Vernice Bundick and Duna M. Kibodeaux.
