Funeral services were held for Lillian West, 94, of Ville Platte, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 26. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. West died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the well-being of her precious family. She was a kind and caring soul, and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be remembered as a delightful and engaging lady and will be mourned by all whom were lucky enough to have shared in her journey.
Survivors include three children, James Gary West and Peggy Ardoin and her husband, Reno, all of Ville Platte, and Marilyn Cougevan of Lafayette. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Chad Ardoin, Rusty Ardoin and Jennifer Cougevan; and further blessed with three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Alaina and Clint Ardoin. They were her greatest joy in this life, and she never missed a chance to spoil each and every one of them. She also leaves behind a loving sister, Juanita Soileau of Ville Platte.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Roy West; one son, Paul Bradley West; and her parents, Berthmaus and Emily Fontenot Smith.
Father Brian Harrington officiated.
