Lilly Guillory Mayeux

MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Lilly Guillory Mayeux, 97, of Reddell, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mamou at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 1. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Mausoleum.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ms. Mayeux died Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Evangeline Oaks Guest House in Carencro. She was a lifelong resident of Reddell, where she and her husband, Jercise Mayeux, raised their three children. They owned and operated a general merchandise store, several rental properties and a farming enterprise for over 65 years. She was active for many years in the Catholic Daughters, a local Rosary group and the Evangeline Parish Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include two sons, Stacy Mayeux of Reddell and Terry Mayeux and his wife, Nell, of Opelousas; one daughter, Wilda Mayeux Chapman of Scott; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hosea and Lena Guillory; her husband of 73 years, Jercise Mayeux; two brothers, Lumney Guillory and Laten Guillory; three sisters, Lillian Guillory, Joyce Guillory and Ella Ray Manuel; three grandchildren, Timothy Chapman, Ricky Mayeux and Peter J. Mayeux; and two infant great-grandchildren.
