LUMBERTON, Texas - A life-honoring service will be held for Linda Rose Dupuis, 68, of Mamou, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home in Lumberton, Texas, at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 24.
Ms. Dupuis died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Lumberton, Texas, following a short battle with cancer. She was born November 8, 1946, to Armand Prosper Landreneau and Agnes Manuel Landreneau in Ville Platte. She was a woman who loved to garden. She not only tended flower gardens, but vegetable gardens as well. As a by-product of the vegetable gardens, she loved to cook! Meatball stew, gumbo and sauce picante are favorites of hers family and friends will miss her not being here to make. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, friends and pets.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Watts and her husband, Joseph, of Jasper, Texas, and Phyllis Peeler and her husband, Chris, of Lumberton, Texas; one son, Jeff Guillory and his wife, Peggy, of Lumberton, Texas; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; “sister,” Faye Landreneau of Reddell; friends, Ken and Mona Berryhill of Mamou; dog, Chloe; and cats, Sam, Fat Cat, Smokey and Sonny.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Linus Dupuis; her parents; and three brothers, Lee, Ray and Ronald Landreneau.
Cremation will be the final form of disposition, and burial will take place in L’anse Meg Cemetery in Mamou at a later date.
