Funeral services will be held for Lionel West, 85, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3 p.m., Monday, February 17. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Mr. West died Friday, February 14, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte.
He was never blessed with children of his own, but his adoring cousins and dear friends were absolutely devoted to him. Their love and concern were immense. He was always grateful and in high spirits when they included him in their families’ special occasions and always looked forward to their visits. He was a kind man with a gentle soul and he will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy and Leola Ortego West; and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Barbara West.
At the request of the West family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 9 a.m., Monday, February 17, and will continue until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in his honor at 2:15 p.m., Monday afternoon.
Father Mitchell Guidry will officiate.
