MABLE “MRS. MAE” M. FONTENOT

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Mary Baptist Church in Chataignier, for Mable “Mrs. Mae” Fontenot. Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Mary Baptist Church.
Interment will be in St. Paul Baptist Cemetery in Ville Platte. Rev. Clarence Fontenot will officiate at the service.
Fontenot, 94, passed away, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge.
Fontenot is survived by her daughter, Ethel Mae Stagg of Baton Rouge; seven sons, Gilton Fontenot (Alma) of Texas City, Texas, Rev. Clarence Fontenot (Anne) of Lake Charles, Thilman Fontenot of Lake Charles, Johnny Ray Fontenot of Mamou, Johnny Lee Fontenot (Pamela) of Baton Rouge, Robert Fontenot of Ville Platte and Rev. Wilfred Fontenot (Judith) of Baker; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fontenot was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Fontenot; six children, Lawrence, Edward, Lee Edward, Ethel Lee Fontenot and two infant sons; her parents and siblings.
Williams Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
