OPELOUSAS - Funeral services were held for Meris Dupre, 73, of Andrepont, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Grand Prairie at 1 p.m., Monday, February 24. Burial followed in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Mr. Dupre died Friday, February 21, 2014, at his residence. He was a farmer at heart and a friend to all who always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed his cows, gardening, playing bourre’ and spending time with his greatest loves, his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Ortego Dupre of Andrepont; two sons, Philip M. Dupre and his wife, Lorrie, of Andrepont and Kirk E. Dupre and his wife, Amy, of Ville Platte; two daughters, Angie Guillory and her husband, Robin, of Pine Prairie and Leslie Johnson and her husband, Jody, of Grand Prairie; one sister, Merlyne Meche of Andrepont; 16 grandchildren, Lainey Broussard and her husband, Johnny, Derek Guillory, Malerie Guillory, Taylor Dupre, Austin Dupre, Logan Johnson, Ross Johnson and his wife, Rachel, Dominic Johnson, Luke Johnson, Grace Johnson, Gianna Johnson, Claire Johnson, Camille Johnson, Alexander Dupre, Andrew Dupre and Mary Katherine Dupre; and two great-grandchildren, Brody Broussard and Tucker Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Vernice Vidrine Dupre; and one grandson, Kade Guillory.
