Funeral services were held for Richard Ray Deshotel, 74, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 20. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Mr. Deshotel died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Opelousas General Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Dalores Deville Deshotel of Ville Platte; one son, Stacy M. Deshotel and his wife, Lisa, of Tate Cove; and one daughter, Melanie Deshotel of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are two grandchildren, Everett Deshotel and Brandi Andrus; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady Deshotel and Ridgeway Deshotel.
Father Matthew Barzare officiated.
