Robert Glen Soileau Sr.
August 16, 1943 - January 30, 2014
Funeral services were held for Robert Glen Soileau Sr., 70, of Belaire Cove, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 1. Burial followed in the Gates of Heaven Mausoleum.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr. Soileau died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed passing his time caring for his horses and cattle. He also was an accomplished welder, but his true passion was his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 50 years, Shirley Fontenot Soileau of Belaire Cove; and his beloved children, Amanda Soileau Vidrine and her husband, John, of Tate Cove, Angie Soileau of Belaire Cove, Anita Soileau Vidrine and her husband, Paul, also of Belaire Cove, and Robert Glen Soileau Jr. and his wife, Melanie, also of Tate Cove. His memory will be forever cherished by his grandchildren, Michael “Mikey” Wade Deville Jr. and his fiancé, Sarah Jessie Vervalin, Cody Lane Deville, Nathan John Vidrine, Justin Cole Vidrine, Elizabeth Claire Vidrine and Sydney Anne Vidrine. He was blessed with one great-grandchild, Layton Blair Deville. He will be deeply missed by his half-brother, Floyd Soileau of Ville Platte.
