Funeral services were held for Rodrick Jones Fontenot, 73, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Monday, July 7. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Fontenot died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Breaux Fontenot of Ville Platte; five sons, Michael Darion Fontenot of Sacramento, California, Dane Isaac Fontenot and his wife, Pamela, of Ville Platte, Aaron Lyle Fontenot and his wife, Amy, of Denham Springs, Toby Lynn Fontenot and his wife, Tracy, of Carencro and Kip Byron Fontenot of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Edius Fontenot and his wife, Madelyn, of Morgan City and Delvin Fontenot and his wife, Georgie, of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Frenella Saucier and her husband, Rollins, and Evanna Fontenot, all of Ville Platte, and Dagment Ankey and her husband, Bill, of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-law, Wilda Fontenot and Patricia Fontenot; and nine grandchildren, Nicholas Fontenot, Ashley Fontenot, Sarah Fontenot, Carley Fontenot, Madison Fontenot, Alaina Fontenot, Emma Fontenot, Holden Fontenot and Rebecca Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Lelia Johnson Fontenot; and two brothers, Mac N. and Virgil Fontenot.
Father Brian Harrington officiated.
