OPELOUSAS — A memorial service for Roger Dupre, 66, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016, in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016, from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary service will be prayed at 1 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
Dupre, a resident of Plaisance, died on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette. Dupre enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time in his chicken yard. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at the camp with the guys. Dupre enjoyed fishing with his son. He was a talented carpenter who was known by many and a friend to all who knew him.
Survivors include wife, Gwen Fontenot Dupre, of Plaisance; his children, Todd Dupre and his wife, Emily, of Grand Prairie, and Tracy Fontenot and her husband, Toby, of Carencro: brother, Winnis Dupre and his wife, Melda, of Plaisance; sister, Rita Fontenot and her husband, Norman, of Ville Platte; five grandchildren, Dillon, Tristen, Carley, Dustin and Holden; and two great grandchildren, Annalise and Raelyn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Nita Bordelon Dupre and brothers, Vernon and Floyd Dupre.
Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
