Funeral services will be held for Rogers Thomas Sr., 69, of Ville Platte, at Ninth Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Thomas died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Thomas of Ville Platte; one daughter-in-law, Mayor Jackie Thomas; one brother, Eldridge Thomas of Ville Platte; four sisters, Jimmie Edwards, Jessie M. Griffin and Laura Jackson, all of Ville Platte, and Beverley Hudson of Marksville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Rogers “Rico” Thomas Jr.
Rev. Darwan Lazard will officiate.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Ville Platte will be in charge of arrangements.
