Funeral services will be held for Rose Mae Thomas, 85, of Marrero, at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 25. Burial will follow in the St. Matthew’s Baptist Church Cemetery in Ville Platte.
Mrs. Thomas died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at her residence.
Survivors include her loving husband, Mr. Kirby Thomas Sr. of Marrero; one son, Kirby Thomas Jr. of Ville Platte; three daughters, Lucy Doucet (Jessie) of Ville Platte, Ella Bell (Willie Sr.) of Marrero and Elsie T. Chapman Lewis (Harry) of Mamou; one sister, Glory Allison of Mamou; her sisters-in-law, Addie, Bertha, Mary, Diane, Orelia and Mary; 14 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Allison and Alia Celestine Allison; an infant son; seven brothers, Linus, Walter, Allen, Frank, Sam, Nolton and Ray Allison; one sister, Lee Ella Richardson; one daughter-in-law, Dena Thomas; and one sister-in-law, Elsie Mae.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at Zion Baptist Church in Ville Platte.
