Ruby Shuff Primeaux

PINEVILLE - A memorial service was held for Ruby Shuff Primeaux, 78, of Pineville, at St. Francis and Anne Catholic Church in Deville at 6 p.m., Wednesday, June 11.
A native of Evangeline Parish, Mrs. Primeaux died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 30, 1935, to Willis Shuff and Anna Soileau Shuff in Evangeline Parish. She graduated from Spencer Business College in Lafayette, where she met her future husband, Dick Primeaux. They married on August 7, 1954, and were blessed with six children, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was always active in her church and planned and directed the annual fairs at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Tioga for several years. She also coached Dixie Girls Softball at Ward 10 for several years, teaching many girls true sportsmanship and having fun playing the game. In 1994, they moved from Ball to Pineville and attended St. Francis and Anne Catholic Church in Libuse.
She loved planting all types of flowers and trees and seeing them blossom. She brought several Plumeria plants back from various trips to Hawaii and nurtured them to full blooms. She also enjoyed hosting and cooking for family and friends in her home.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Dick Primeaux of Pineville; six children, Mark Primeaux and Pam Primeaux, both of Pineville, Mike Primeaux of Tennessee, Paul Primeaux (Donna) of Kelly, Texas, Steve Primeaux of Grant Parish and Linda Primeaux of Tioga; one sister, Deola Smith (J.Y.) of Mamou; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Anna Shuff; and one brother, Ronald Shuff.
Mrs. Primeaux donated her body to science in an effort to help as many people as possible.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Francis and Anne Catholic Church Building Fund, 143 Booner Miller Rd., Deville, La. 71328.
