Funeral services will be held for Russell G. Young, 73, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3:30 p.m., Friday, November 13. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Young died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at his residence. He was a retired painter and a longtime baseball coach.
Survivors include his loving wife, Althea Loga Young of Ville Platte; two daughters, Belinda Stanford and her husband, Danny, of Sunset and Sherry Fusilier and her husband, Jacob, of Ville Platte; and four grandchildren, Alison Stanford, Chandler Johnson, Tori Johnson and Korryn Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lake and Etta Pitre Young; one son, Ricky Young; and one brother, Vincent Young.
Visitation will be held today, November 12, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday, November 13, at 8 a.m.
Father Mitch Guidry will officiate.
