Samuel B. Hudspeth

Funeral services will be held for Samuel B. Hudspeth, 29, of Lafayette, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette at 10 a.m., Friday, August 21.
Mr. Hudspeth died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center. He was born in Opelousas, on October 23, 1985, and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He attended ULL, majoring in I.T. He loved his dog, “Minnie,” and he enjoyed playing soccer and baseball. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Dean Hudspeth and Celeste Fontenot Hudspeth; one sister, Alana Hudspeth; his maternal grandmother, Gayle Fontenot; one nephew, Tripp Kimball; one niece, Tessa Kimball; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bevy Fontenot; his paternal grandmother, Lena Williams; and his paternal grandfathers, Robert Williams and James Hudspeth.
Readers will be Carolyn Landreneau and Cade Fontenot.  
Gift bearers will be Steve Fontenot and Alana Hudspeth.  
Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing “Be Not Afraid,” “Psalm 27,” “Ave Maria,” “One Bread, One Body” and “You Are Mine” for the services.
Pall bearers will be Jeremy Williams, Lucas Hudspeth, Bryan LaFleur, Jack Walker, Joe Walker, Nick Fontenot, Quinten Fontenot and Taylor Kimball.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin and Castille’s southside location Thursday, August 20, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, August 21, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
A Rosary, led by Brady LeBlanc, will be prayed this evening at 6:30 p.m. at Martin and Castille Funeral Home.
Rev. Howard Blessing will officiate.
