OPELOUSAS - Funeral services for Walter McDaniel, 73, were held Friday, September 16, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed in the Fontenot Cemetery in Tate Cove. Fr. Glodd officated.
McDaniel, a resident of Opelousas, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his residence.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Stella McDaniel of Opelousas; son, Thomas McDaniel and wife, Jessica of Belaire Cove; daughters, Hope Dupuis and husband, Eric, of Eunice; Tonya Goosen and husband, Rick, of Houston; sister, Nettie Tidwell of Tate Cove; seven grandchildren, Alex Mire, Zachary Fuselier, Kate Fuselier, Abby McDaniel, Olivia McDaniel, Ethan Goosen, and Adam Goosen; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Rene and Estelle Vidrine McDaniel; son, Anthony McDaniel; brothers, Ionel McDaniel, Bobby McDaniel; and sister, Trudy Welch.
LaVille Funeral Home in Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.
