VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Velma Humble Taffi, 79, were held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at The First Baptist Church of Ville Platte. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Kevin West officiated.
Taffi, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away Monday January 23, 2017 at Post Acute Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
For many years she was a sales associate at TG&Y and a nursing assistant at Ville Platte Medical Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ville Platte where she previously taught pre-school Sunday school and vacation bible school.
A loving mother and grandmother she will be missed by her sons, Donald Joseph Taffi and wife, Lena Foret, and Curtis Taffi and wife, Tracey, all of Ville Platte; daughters, Dr. Candace Taffi Beverly and husband, Robert, of Houston, Patricia A. Taffi Odom and husband, Paul Allen, of Ville Platte; six grandchildren, Joshua Bernard, James Taffi, Jessie Taffi, Chelsea Beverly, Heather Odom and Cassie Marks; five great grandchildren, Alissa Marks, Aiden Marks, Kaleb Taffi, Zariah Taffi and Demirro Daniel DeAnda. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Agnes Guillory Humble, and grandson Paul Odom.
LaVille Funeral Home in Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.
