Funeral services were held for Viola Reed, 89, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3 p.m., Monday, March 28. Burial followed in the Reed Cemetery in Oberlin.
A loving mother, sister and grandmother, Ms. Reed died Friday, March 25, 2016, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte.
Survivors include one daughter, Sally Baquet of Ville Platte; and two sisters, Vidalia Wills of Pollock and Alpha Chadick of Slidell. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, Robert Baquet, Jennifer Fontenot and her husband, Cody, Eric Baquet and his wife, Sarah, and Kevin Baquet; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Solomon Reed Sr.; her parents, Lunus and Sallie Quave; one son, R. Solomon Reed Jr.; one brother, Hillard Quave; two sisters, Mildred Lindsey and Audre Shaw; and one granddaughter, Katie Reed.
Father Mitchell Guidry officiated.
