Wille Ray Roy Sr.

Funeral services will be held for Willie Ray Roy Sr., 71, of Ville Platte, at the Owens-Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 25. Burial will be held in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, at a later date.
Mr. Roy died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in Ville Platte.
Survivors include four sons, Willie (Shanta) Roy Jr. of Lafayette and David (Shanda) Roy, Wayne (La’Nellie) Roy and Shawn (Letitia) Roy, all of Ville Platte; two daughters, Patricia (Michael) Burns-McNeal of Los Angeles, California, and Maliakia “Meeke” Doucet of Baton Rouge;  one brother, James (Christine) Roy of Collinsville, Illinois; his mother-in-law, Mary Lee Thomas; his father-in-law, Morris Thomas Sr.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three godchildren, Tressa Thomas, Clayton Jack Jr. and Kayeara Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Roy; his parents, Willie Roy and Leavie Mae Martin; and one brother, Levarn Henderson.
Evangelist Donna Gallow will officiate.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Ville Platte will be in charge of arrangements.
