William Guillory Sr.

Funeral services were held for William Guillory Sr., 88, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 1. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Mr. Guillory died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at his residence following a short illness. He was a United States WWII Navy veteran, having enlisted at the age of 17 and witnessed the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Verna Soileau Guillory of Ville Platte; two sons, Dr. William R. Guillory Jr. and Stephen L. Guillory, both of Lafayette; one daughter, June Guillory Inhern of Washington; and one sister, Bernita Guillory of Shreveport. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his seven grandchildren, Alyce Inhern Chachere and her husband, Nick, Jean-Paul Inhern and his wife, Sheree, Ann Marie Inhern LaFleur and her husband, Justin, Philippe Inhern and his wife, Andree, Blaire E. Guillory Bobo and her husband, Taylor, Samantha Guillory and Andrew Paul Guillory; and his eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent and Pearl Guillory; one brother, James G. Guillory; one sister, Helen Grace Cedatol; and three grandchildren, William Matthew Guillory, Adam Michael Guillory and Stephen Ross Guillory.
Father Jason Vidrine officiated.
