A Mass of Christian Burial for Winnie Pearl Ortego was held Monday, November 28, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Father Taj Glodd officiated. Ortego was laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Ortego, 90, a resident of Ville Platte, was born August 29, 1926 and departed this world November 26, 2016.
Ortego loved life and did her best to make the most of everyday. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a 34 year member of the choir. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all.
Ortego leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter, Jennifer Kay Ortego, and brother, Dewey Fontenot.
Ortego, joins in heaven her husband, Eddie Edwin Ortego; parents, Joseph and Amy Fontenot; three brothers, Mathias Fontenot, Jeffery Fontenot and Edward Fontenot; and four sisters, Mattie Veillon, Eve Fontenot, Laddie Cefalu, and Lana LaFleur.
Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.
