One charged with prescription fraud

Mamou Police arrested one individual after he posed as an employee of a local doctor’s office to get prescription medication.

Jeremy Guillory, 30, 404 Hackberry St., Mamou, was charged with prescription fraud after it was discovered he called a pharmacy and pretended to be an employee of a local physician’s office to get a prescription. According to Detective Todd Ortis, Guillory used a fictitious patient name for the prescription of lortabs. After filling the prescription, the pharmacy became suspicious and contacted the physician’s office, where it was learned no such patient existed.

Guillory was identified as the culprit and quickly located and booked. He was transported to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he was released on a $10,000 bond.
