Police investigating accident

CROWLEY – Crowley Police are investigating a traffic accident involving a train and a car which occurred
Saturday afternoon at 1:39 pm.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Eastern Ave and Standard Mill Road. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Geraldine Labat of Crowley. She was transported to the American Legion Hospital for her injuries and later died from her injuries sustained in the accident.

The investigation remains open, no citations have been issued as the vehicle Labat was driving did not yield to the train.
