Relay for Life tremendous success

RAYNE – With the threat of rain looming in the air, fundraising for the American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life” event was held on April 18 at the Rayne Frog Festival Fairgrounds.

Many cancer survivors came to walk their victory lap along with family and friends, as an estimated $68,000 was raised for the night.

Although Relay is over, funding continues until August 31, which is the end of the fiscal year.

“The overall goal for Acadia Parish is $75,000,” said Ronda Richard, who helps to organize and plan these events.

If you are interested in helping this organization to reach their goal, you can contact the American Cancer Society office at 237-3797, or log on to their website at www.events.cancer.org/rflacadiala.
